Since the last time I wrote my update, I have been translating the usual stuff (which I like a lot) — technical, legal, IT, and creative marketing content — but there have also been some new brands and fields I worked on.
First, I had much fun working on a toilet cleaning product (Domestos) TV commercial that required creative and out-of-the-box thinking to convey the idea in the target language*.
In the automotive translation, I added a new brand (Subaru) to my portfolio. This was interesting and challenging because it required the knowledge of electrical circuits, engines, continuously variable transmission (CVT), suspension, wheel alignment, oil check, and various car maintenance routines.
My excitement skyrocketed when I received a request to work on a space technology translation project related to defence, space & security (Boeing), space and satellite systems, intelligence and security systems. This is not the first time I deal with the translation in this field, so I thought it appropriate to include it in my translation portfolio under SECURITY, LAW ENFORCEMENT, AND MILITARY.
*All the above jobs were translated into one my native languages, which are Ukrainian and Russian.
